It’s that time again for another Small Business Spotlight! I realized I missed posting this in March as my parents for here for a visit, so we may just get two of them for April (yay)! I’m pleased to share with you the graphic designer behind Accent Design. I’ve known Deanna for many years, as we met when she was working for a printing company with whom I did business. Deanna was super helpful from the very beginning as I was making my transition from using Quark to Adobe InDesign. Not only did she help with printing of the cattle magazine I design, but also has helped me with the branding of my photography business. She also helped with my LOVE printable I shared earlier. What began as a great work relationship has turned into a wonderful friendship.
What is the name of your business? What do you do/sell?
Accent Design is the name of my company. I design custom invitations and paper accents for special events. I also work with businesses and have design services such as logo design, business cards, brochures and more.
How long have you been in business?
I have been doing this work on my own for four years. Prior to that I worked at a print shop for four years as well. I have a degree in graphic design.
What made you decide to open your business?
I wanted to use my talents and make some extra money for my family. I also wanted to offer my clients some great services.
What do you love most about being a small business owner and what you offer?
I love seeing happy faces when they receive their order and hearing the kind words from others as they talk about how much they love what I have done for them.
What inspires you?
As a designer, new colors or a new challenge in projects inspires me and pushes me to do something I have not done before.

What do you and your family do for fun?
We love to go to the park and play as a family.
What’s your favorite dish to make or eat?
Quiche – I love to eat any kind and really enjoy making it as well.
Describe your perfect day. (where would that be, what would you do, who would you be with)?
I would love to be on vacation and not worry about money or cooking food. I would just be able to spend the day playing on a warm beach having a great time with my family.
If you had one super power, what would it be?
I would like to move things with my mind. To be able to get that toy that is under the couch with out pick it up would be amazing!!!
