As an Idaho newborn lifestyle photographer, I love capturing baby nursery details. From the ultrasound photo and first books to the photo on the wall of her daddy as a young boy, Miss A’s sweet little room has personal touches everywhere.

I encourage clients to find something meaningful like a blanket or keepsake to use in their sessions. Those personal touches make their portrait session that much more special. For this newborn session, Dad suggested using this antique milk crate that was sitting in the nursery. It was special because it belonged to his grandpa and was from his family’s dairy farm in California. The property has since been sold, but the legacy of this family’s roots in agriculture has remained. It was such a perfect way to honor Baby A’s family legacy.

I can not get enough of these perfect little eyelashes. I capture all the details that change so quickly as a newborn grows.

At a newborn session, I take the time needed to keep everyone comfortable and baby safe during any posing. It’s also important that my clients feel relaxed so we capture authentic and real emotions. I know as a mom of four, the first weeks home with a new baby can be overwhelming, but there are these moments where no one is around and you are bonding and snuggling with baby. These moments are the ones that you will imprint on your mind and want to relive over and over again. These are the moments we capture during a lifestyle newborn session.

It was so fun meeting Miss A and her folks. Her mom, Annie, and I have several mutual friends and knew who each other were, but it was nice to finally meet in person! I love when clients become friends!
